Six-week CrossFit Kids or Teens Session

CROSSFIT KIDS, for 6-12 year olds, emphasizes good movement throughout childhood and adolescence. Consistently good mechanics translates to physical literacy, enhanced sports performance, and fewer sports injuries for kids. Further, a vast body of research indicates that exercise is beneficial to cognitive function, which means that consistent adherence to the program can have a positive impact on children’s academic achievement. CROSSFIT TEENS is a strength and conditioning program designed for 12 – 18 year olds: athletes and non-athletes alike. The program combines age-appropriate weightlifting and gymnastics with high intensity training to deliver optimal fitness and performance, as well as establish a lifetime love of fitness. Proper weightlifting techniques are taught, to enhance strength and power, while also focusing on basic gymnastics to increase agility, mobility and flexibility. In addition, our goal is to boost self-esteem and confidence within our teens. We want to give them the strength, both physically and mentally, to tackle any obstacle thrown their way inside or out of the gym. Kids (6-12 years) classes are Wednesday at 4:30pm, Teens (12-18 years) classes are Tuesdays or Thursdays at 4:30pm. Each class is approximately 45 minutes long. The programs are scalable for any age or experience level and account for the varied maturation status one can find in a class full of adolescents. The kids work hard, but we make sure it’s fun. CrossFit Inner Loop is located at 8800 Monard Drive, Silver Spring, MD, 20910. We’re just off Brookville Road, near Silver Stars Gymnastics.
